That’s me dressed for a typical work day (not really, luckily being a recruiter affords the opportunity to explore the realms of business casual).  You can learn all about my introduction into the world of executive recruitment, and bits and pieces of the 18 years that have flown by since, on the about page.  

Now, on to more pressing matters like “what is utile dulci?” Utile Dulci is latin for “The Useful with the Agreeable” and it is the concept that will serve as the guide for this blog’s content.  By sharing content related to recruitment (professional development, executing an effective job search (for candidates) or recruiting campaigns (for hiring managers), etc.), I hope readers find the site useful but it is equally important that the content be agreeable (engaging & entertaining).   Before beginning this undertaking, I pledged to avoid, at all (reasonable) costs, creating another repository for the interview tips & tricks that have been circulated on the internet more times than the Taco Cat meme (if you haven’t seen it, you should buy a lottery ticket because you have freakishly good luck). 

This is not an attempt to publish a recruiting playbook that covers all possible circumstances.   This is about sharing ideas that can be tailored to meet the individual needs & wants of hiring managers. companies & candidates.  Emphasis is placed upon sharing because I want to interact with readers, understand different perspectives and be in a better position to serve.
